When the Riot Intrigue kayak is swamped or capsized what is the best method of self rescue?
I would suggest doing the following with a the swamped kayak.
First ensure the airbag in the front is inflated fully before you go out on the water. If you don't have an airbag, there are lots of paddling accessory companies that make them like NRS or Harmony.
Second in the event of capsize and swamped kayak, I would use the
Self-Rescue Safety Straps located on the back deck to first stabilize the kayak with a paddle float, to allow you to perform the rest of the rescue and help stabilize kayak while bailing the water out,

Third - before re-entering the kayak, try to pump out some of the water from cockpit first before trying to re-enter.
Fourth- after re-entry and you are seated you can continue to bail out the water in the cockpit with a bilge pump all while the kayak is stabilized with a paddle float to the one side.
I recommend doing some practice rescues close to shore, dock, beach so when it comes time to having to do this for real, you are well prepared.
Always check the weather, especially wind forecast for the body of water you are paddling on, paddle within your limits and wear appropriate clothing for the water temperature.
Hope this helps,
