The good news is that some good marine glue will fix this issue

Apply a thin layer of Sikaflex 291 (or equivalent marine sealant/adhesive) https://www.amazon.ca/Sikaflex-Multifunctional-Adhesive-sealant-Applications/dp/B004X7PEL6/
