Step 1 - Determine if your watercraft will require hard mounting or track mounting

  1. Lay the Crossbar (1) across the width of your kayak in the location you would like to mount the motor. Keeping in mind seating position and ease of manipulating your motor’s tiller steering
  2. Determine if you have gear tracks that will line up the with long milled slots on each end of the crossbar (1)
  3. If you do, you may proceed to Step 4.
  4. If you have threaded inserts in this location for mounting pad eyes, webbing, etc. check to see if the included bolts (5.) fit (they fit most threaded inserts) if they do not, determine the size bolt needed at your local hardware store proceed to step 3
  5. If you do not have acceptable track mounting locations proceed to Step 2.
Step 2 -  Hard Mounting your transom mount
  1. Lay the Crossbar (1) in the location you want to mount it to your watercraft.
  2. Mark on the kayak at least 2 mounting hole locations on each side of the kayak that line up with each of the slots (1 per slot) on the Crossbar (1) .
  3. Double check that these mounting locations will allow you to mount the motor in a way that is reachable and can turn properly.
  4. Use the supplied Drill Bit (11) to drill out your marked holes.
  5. Unscrew the bolt from the Well Nut (9).
  6. Insert the Well Nut (9) into the hole using a rubber mallet.
  7. Line up your Crossbar and adjust out the length according to your preference .
  8. Using the Flat Washers (8)  tighten the Well Nut Bolts into the Well Nuts (9) .
  9. Angle adjustment can be accomplished by loosening all 4 bolts and sliding the crossbar (1) utilizing the slots to dial in your preferred angle.
  10. For removal you can insert the Well Nut Plugs (10) to plug your holes when motor mount is not needed.

Step 3 -  Mounting to existing brass insert

  1. Lay the Crossbar (1) in the location you want to mount it to your watercraft.
  2. Remove the already mounted hardware from the kayak (pad eye, bungee hook etc)
  3. Using either (at least 1 per side) the included Bolts (5) or your own and the Flat Washers (8) add the bolt (5) through one slot on the Crossbar (1) then add the Washer (8) between the boat and the bar.
  4. Adjust angle and reach.
  5. Tighten.

Step 4 – Track Mounting

  1. Determine the best location for your Crossbar (1) spanning your gear tracks
  2. Unscrew the Track Nut (7) from the Thumb Screw (6)
  3. Insert the Track Nut (7) into your gear track – 2 per side is recommended
  4. Add washers (8) above each Track Nut (7)
  5. Lay Crossbar (1) on top and pass the Thumb Screw (6) through 2 slots per side, and tighten into the track nuts
  6. Adjust length and angle to desired position

Step 5 -  Installing the Transom

  1. Take the Crossbar (1) and the Transom (2) and line up the 2 furthest holes on the Transom (2) with 2 desired holes on the far end of the Crossbar (1)
  2. Insert the Transom Mounting Bolt (3) through each of the 2 holes from the top
  3. Add the Transom Mounting Nut (4) to the bottom ensuring the locking portion of the nut is facing down
  4. Tighten down with the Allen Key (12) and an adjustable wrench
